Writers, poets, artists, and creators looking for a fresh publishing opportunity are invited to join a free online creative workshop hosted by the editors of INSTANT NOODLES LIT MAG on Friday, June 13 at 5 PM ET (2 PT).

Now in its sixth year, INSTANT NOODLES has become a distinctive independent online literary magazine known for its eclectic themes, experimental spirit, and commitment to accessible publishing.
Part of the Current Words Publishing family and curated by members of the Old Scratch Press poetry collaborative, the magazine publishes poetry, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, visual art, multimedia work, and other forms of short creative expression. The publication remains completely free to submit to and free to read.
The June 13 workshop is designed to help spark ideas for the magazine’s next issue, Al Dente, a landmark release that will include the 600th creative work to appear in Instant Noodles since its inception. Hosted on Zoom by Robert Fleming, the session will encourage participants to generate new work, think creatively around the issue’s theme, and learn more about the submission process.
Unlike many literary magazines that can feel distant or inaccessible, INSTANT NOODLES has built a reputation for fostering a welcoming and community-oriented environment for both emerging and established creators. Since launching in 2021, the publication has released themed issues ranging from Very Veggie and Pathos to Devil’s Party, Sanctuary, and the current sixth-volume issue, Planes Boats Cars Trains.
Those wishing to contribute to INSTANT NOODLES are encouraged to join this insightful meeting and to familiarize themselves with the magazine’s themes and aesthetic before submitting. The editors accept short-form prose of up to 500 words, poetry, visual art, and multimedia submissions.
For writers who have been curious about literary magazines but unsure where to begin, the workshop offers a low-pressure opportunity to engage creatively, ask questions, and potentially prepare a submission for consideration. Plus three lucky participants will win the book of their choice from Current Words Publishing and Old Scratch Press!
