Current Words Editing Packages

For Authors and the People Who Believe in Them

Whether you’re refining your own manuscript or gifting something meaningful to a writer in your life, our editing packages offer clear, professional guidance to elevate a book to industry standards—ready for publication or submission.

We keep pricing straightforward: three cents per word, all in. No surprises.

Each editing package includes:

• Copy editing (line-level), developmental editing, or both: Includes improvements to grammar, punctuation, clarity, flow, continuity, and overall consistency, all while preserving the writer’s unique voice.

• Two files returned: 1. Tracked-changes manuscript: Every edit is visible for full transparency, giving authors complete control over revisions. 2. All-changes-accepted manuscript: A version with all  edits applied for ease of reading and author evaluation.

• Editorial note(s): A note summarizing the editor’s thoughts on the final page of the file.

• Optional author Q&A: Writers may ask clarifying questions about edits or comments to ensure full understanding. They can do so through email, or a live Zoom call with editor. Author can opt to do this once, or after each set of returned edits for no additional cost.

• Industry-standard formatting: Delivered in standard manuscript format unless otherwise requested.

Need more than one tier? Need a custom package? No problem.

Word-count tiers can be combined for longer manuscripts.

For example, for an edit of a 70,000-word manuscript, select the 60,000-word package and the 10,000-word package. We’ll apply the edit seamlessly across the full manuscript.

We also offer custom editing packages based on your manuscript’s word count. Simply contact us and provide the specific word count. We’ll take care of the rest.

What Happens After You Order

If you’re ordering this as a gift, please include the recipient’s name and email address in the “Add a note to your order” box at checkout. You are welcome to include a personal message for us to share with the recipient. We will disclose your name as the purchaser unless you request to remain anonymous. Your gift recipient will receive an eCard announcing your gift. Unless you indicate otherwise, we will process the eCard within 48 hours following purchase.

After your eCard is delivered, we’ll coordinate an introductory Zoom call with the author (around 30-60 minutes15 minutes to discuss the work  to be edited and establish a timeline for completion of the project. There is no additional charge for any Zoom meetings. Everything is done on the author’s preferred schedule and timeline.

If purchasing the edit for yourself, simply state this in the note box at checkout, and we will contact you directly to set up everything.

We will do our best to set-up the editing process within your desired timeline, but please allow up to two weeks for scheduling.

All sales are considered final. Editing package are non-transferrable without prior notification to Current Words. Should you encounter any issues in processing an order, please contact us for assistance.
